From Healing Hands to Holistic Skin Health: My Journey as an Advanced Aesthetic Practitioner
My name is Yelena, and I’ve dedicated the past decade to mastering the art and science of beauty, skin health, and advanced aesthetic care. What began in 2015 as a deep interest in wellness and human connection has since evolved into a full-fledged vocation—culminating in the creation of my own clinic, Skin Yelena Ko (SYK).
A Foundation Built on Wellbeing
I began my career in the spa industry, where the focus was on overall wellbeing—massages, tailored consultations, and personalized care. This foundational period was essential: it taught me to listen not just to my clients’ words, but to their energy. It was here I developed the empathetic, intuitive approach that still defines my practice today.
As my curiosity and ambition grew, I transitioned into more advanced, results-driven treatments. I trained extensively, earning certifications in a wide range of specialisms: Medical-Grade Lasers, Microneedling, Chemical Peels, PRP therapy, Vitamin Injections, and more. I became particularly drawn to regenerative medicine—focusing on PRP and Exosome-Rich Plasma therapies, offering powerful, cutting-edge solutions for skin repair, rejuvenation, and hair restoration.
Eventually, I became a Senior Therapist at the largest skin and laser clinic in the UK. This role exposed me to hundreds of diverse skin cases, where I worked with the most advanced technologies and a wide variety of clients. It was a role I respected deeply. And yet, in time, I reached a pivotal realization: I had grown as much as I could in that space.
Choosing Growth Over Comfort
In November 2024, I made a life-changing decision: I left behind the security of a respected position to pursue my own vision. It wasn’t an easy step. But I knew in my heart—it was time to create something of my own.
And so, Skin Yelena Ko was born.
SYK is more than just a clinic. It is a space rooted in trust, compassion, professionalism, and non-judgment—where every client feels heard, understood, and supported. I wanted to create a place where cutting-edge treatments meet holistic care; where we don’t just treat the skin, but acknowledge the complex interplay between skincare, diet, lifestyle, and mental wellbeing. Because true, lasting skin transformation only happens when we work together—inside and out.
My Philosophy: Beauty Through Connection
My proudest achievement isn't a title or award—though I’m honoured that Skin Yelena Ko is now a finalist for “Skin Therapist of the Year” at the Hair and Beauty Awards UK 2025. My real success lies in the returning clients, the glowing skin, and most importantly—the glowing confidence. My positive reviews and client feedback are my daily motivation.
I believe that being a great practitioner means being present, compassionate, and real. I'm not just offering a service—I’m offering a partnership in each client’s journey to healthier, more radiant skin. Whether it's smoothing texture, reducing pigmentation, stimulating hair growth, or offering emotional support in difficult times, I am there.

SYK is growing—and I’m growing with it. I remain committed to expanding the clinic with high-end rejuvenation treatments, results-driven protocols, and a deeply human approach. Each step is intentional, taken with care and purpose. My mission is clear: to help others feel good and be good in their own skin.
